Queensland Unsolved Crimes: The Murder of Mima Joan McKim-Hill

On this day the 26th of March in 1967, the body of Mima Joan Mckim-Hill was located in a small waterhole at Collard Creek. She had been strangled and sexually assaulted.

Mima Joan McKim-Hill left her home in Rockampton and travelled to Calliope in her motor vehicle at 9.00am on the 9th of March 1967. She left Calliope at 11.00am the same day. On the 10th of March 1967 at around 3.00am the vehicle was found abandoned on the Gladstone bypass road 3km north of Benaraby, 80km from where her body was later located.

The Minister for Police and Corrective Services has approved a reward of $250,000 be offered for information which leads to the apprehension and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Mima Joan McKIM-HILL at Calliope between 09 March 1967 and 29 March 1967.
