During his time at Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Service, Matt deepened his understanding of the unique legal challenges faced by Indigenous communities, fostering a compassionate and culturally sensitive approach to his practice. Whilst at Legal Aid Queensland, Matt honed his skills in providing robust legal representation to clients from diverse backgrounds, ensuring fair and equitable access to justice.

In addition to his work in public defence, Matt has also worked at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, gaining invaluable insights into the prosecution process. This comprehensive experience on both sides of the courtroom equips him with a well-rounded perspective that enhances his ability to navigate complex criminal cases effectively.

Beyond his legal career, Matt proudly served as an advanced medic in the Australian Defence Force, where he developed resilience, discipline, and a commitment to serving others under pressure. This background instilled in him a meticulous attention to detail that he brings to every case.
